ProprioEnquête has accessed my credit file?

Have you been looking for a dwelling recently? Have you filled out a rental application form?

The landlord or manager has probably asked you to fill out a rental application form, which collects relevant information from prospective tenants interested in renting an accommodation. This form signals to the landlord or his representative that you will sign a lease if your application is accepted.

Consequently, by signing this form, you have authorized the landlord to conduct a pre-rental screening, which enables the landlord to obtain your credit file and thus learn about your ability to pay and your payment habits. The landlord or his representative may also request a more in-depth investigation to obtain more information about you, such as :

  • Your rental references: Identify and contact your known former landlords independently to provide reliable and verified references.
  • Your employment references: Your employers are contacted to validate your employment statements (salary, status, etc.).
  • Consultation of docket information: If you have obtained convictions, the report will show the number of judgments.
  • Consultation at the Tribunal Administratif du Logement: Receipt of all cases concerning you at the Tribunal Administratif du Logement.

ProprioEnquête is the first pre-rental screening service in Quebec. Rest assured that your information will remain confidential and will only be used to provide landlords with a reliable and secure means of conducting pre-rental screening.
